What PDF Lane does
PDF Lane provides browser-based tools to merge, organize, split and annotate PDFs, convert PDF pages to images and combine images into a PDF. Adding text or an image creates new content over a page; it does not edit the original text or remove information underneath. An image resembling a signature is only an image. This app does not create or verify digital signatures.
Your files and responsibility
Use files you have permission to process. Keep an original copy and inspect every exported result before sharing, submitting or archiving it. Originals are not overwritten by the application.
Compatibility and limitations
- Encrypted PDFs are rejected, including files with an empty user password. XFA forms, damaged PDFs and unsupported documents are rejected.
- Digital signature detection is a warning mechanism, not a certificate or signature validator. PDF exports may invalidate existing digital signatures. The original signed file remains the authoritative original.
- Merge, Organize and Split rebuild PDFs from pages. Bookmarks, form behavior, attachments, internal links, accessibility tags, metadata and other document-level features may be lost or altered.
- Add text / image operates on one complete PDF in its original page order. It tries to preserve the original document structure, but does not guarantee full fidelity for every PDF feature.
- Previews render page content without executing document scripts or displaying interactive form/annotation layers. Some annotations may therefore appear differently in a PDF viewer. PDF-to-image output is a raster rendering and loses searchable text, links and interactivity. Exported PDFs can retain active structures from an original document; this tool does not certify or sanitize PDFs.
- Added text supports Latin characters and common Western punctuation. For other scripts, use an image. This app does not provide OCR, redaction, PDF/A certification, original-text editing or cryptographic signing.
Device limits
The workspace accepts up to 40 files, 50 MB per file, 100 MB of source files and 500 pages. Image decoding is limited to 16 megapixels; decoded image data and image exports also have memory caps. Processing may fail earlier on devices with limited memory. Cancel stops the PDF worker; an in-progress page render may finish before its memory is released.
Availability and results
The tools are provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted access, compatibility with every document, or error-free output. You are responsible for deciding whether the result is fit for your intended use. Nothing here excludes rights or obligations that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Privacy
The privacy policy describes local processing, ordinary hosting requests and the saved theme preference.
